My Mother’s Famous Stuffing
by Daytona Bitch, Drag Idol 2008 winner and all around fabulous bitch

Ingredients:
¼ cup of white bread pieces
¼ cup of whole wheat bread pieces
¾ teaspoon of sage
¾ teaspoon of poultry seasoning
¾ teaspoon of thyme
2 ½ celery stalks
4 green onions, chopped small
1 onion, chopped small
1 egg
¾ cup fresh chopped parsley

Directions:
In a frying pan melt ¼ cup of butter. Add celery, green onions and your onion and cook for 5 to 7 minutes. Add ¾ teaspoon of sage, poultry seasoning, thyme. Cut the crust off the bread and tear into small pieces, about the size of a dime bag of weed, and put it in a bowl. Add the hot butter and veggies to the bread along with an egg and, most importantly, ¾ cup of fresh chopped parsley. Mix it, stuff it in your bird and it’ll be done when your bird’s nice and brown.

Tips:
If your turkey is small, cut down on the size of your measurements to make it fit. When you are mixing this stuffing together, use the biggest pot or bowl you can and use your hands to mix it all up. Stuffing can be cooked inside the turkey or cooked in foil for about an hour. If you are putting it deep inside your bird, remember to clean and salt the inside. Also, drink while doing all of this because it’s Christmas bitch.

Late Thursday, in the House of Commons, during question period, both the NDP and the Conservative Party strongly denounced Uganda’s pending anti-gay legislation that would make homosexuality a crime.

Ottawa — During question period in the House of Commons on Thursday, Bill Siksay, MP (Burnaby-Douglas) and NDP Critic for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transsexual and Transgender Issues stood up and called on the government to stand up and speak out against Uganda’s anti-gay bill.

“Mr. Speaker, The Ugandan Anti-Homosexuality Bill is reprehensible vile, and hateful. It violates human rights by imposing life imprisonment on gays and lesbians and a death sentence on those who are gay and have AIDS. It will jail anyone who fails to report anyone they know to be gay,” Mr. Siksay stated.

“At the Commonwealth meeting, will the Prime Minister meet face to face with Uganda’s prime minister to help stop this bill, and will he make gay, lesbian and trans rights essential to the development and educational work supported by Canadian foreign aid to Uganda and elsewhere?” Mr. Siksay asked in conclusion.

john bairdJohn Baird, the Minister of Transport spoke for Prime Minister Harper because the Prime Minister wasn’t in the House as he was preparing to depart for the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting being held over the weekend.

Mr. Baird replied, “The current legislation before Parliament in Uganda is vile, it’s abhorrent, it’s offensive. It offends Canadian values. It offends decency Mr. Speaker. We strongly condemn that and the Prime Minister will make that strong condemnation as well.”

Both MP’s speeches were well received all around in the House, more so than a few of the other questions that had been posed during this question period.

Earlier in the week, Mr. Siksay had written to Prime Minister Harper on this issue; in it he wrote:

“I am writing to request that you take a strong public position in opposition to legislation now being considered in Uganda that constitutes a major affront the human rights of gay and lesbian people and a significant setback to AID/HIV policy. The Anti-Homosexuality Bill is a very serious attack on the lives of sexual minorities and those living with AIDS/HIV, and it is draconian in every respect.

I would urge that you and your officials lead efforts at the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting on this issue in the hope that the meeting takes a strong stand in opposition to this legislation and has in place a plan of action should it proceed. I would also request that you make Canada’s position known directly to Uganda’s representatives at the meeting.”

The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, takes place from November 27 to 29 and is slated to be chaired by Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.

The news from the House of Commons is an encouraging and welcome development that strengthens the previous statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office earlier in the week and indicates that perhaps it won’t be business as usual with Uganda and the Commonwealth.

I love this cheeky safe sex ad campaign by Lafa (The Stockholm County Aids Prevention Program). Lafa distributed 100,000 free condoms in Stockholm with each condom having a unique number (from no.1 to 100,000). The campaign also used cheeky ads which showed how the condoms can be used (a new husband having sex with his best man at the wedding, above, and the waiter screwing the man’s wife at a hotel, below)

gay - LambertNEW YORK – Adam Lambert’s racy American Music Awards performance cost him a gig on “Good Morning America,” but he will perform live instead on ABC’s morning rivals at CBS.

Lambert was to sing Wednesday on “GMA,” but the network said Tuesday it was canceling the openly gay singer because “we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning.”

While singing his new song, “For Your Entertainment,” at the awards program on Sunday, Lambert kissed a male keyboardist, fondled a dancer and had another dancer briefly stuff his face in Lambert’s crotch. The performance prompted many complaints to ABC, and the network cut out the brief oral sex simulation for its West Coast broadcasts.

ottawa glbt movie festivalAn Ottawa gay and lesbian film festival was left scrambling after copies of three films were delayed at the border for customs inspections.

“We were risking not having films to show at our festival, so you can imagine my fretting,” said Jason St. Laurent, programming director for the Inside Out LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) Film and Video Festival.

The Toronto-based group had scheduled screenings of I Can’t Think Straight, Clapham Junction and Patrik, Age 1.5 for the third annual Ottawa-Gatineau edition of its festival this past weekend.

St. Laurent said he learned Thursday that the films were stuck at the border when he called the courier company to confirm the numbers used to track their delivery.

For two days, he tried unsuccessfully to contact the Canada Border Services Agency by phone.

In the end, the festival managed to get copies of the three films shipped over but decided to make the labelling less specific.

“So we just decided maybe not to make the gay and lesbian film festival part so obvious,” St. Laurent said Monday. The films arrived half an hour before the screening.

St. Laurent would not speculate on why the original copies were flagged for inspection and said it may have been a random check.

Students at the University of North Texas have voted down a Student Senate referendum that would have allowed same-sex couples to be eligible for the university’s homecoming king and queen titles.

A total of 4,895 students voted, or 13.5 percent of the student body. “No” votes were 2,836, or 58 percent of the ballots, while 2,059 students, or 42 percent, voted yes.

Student leaders say turnout was high.

“I can honestly say that my job is to encourage civil engagement among students, and with 13.5 percent of the student body turning out to vote, I think we’ve achieved that,” said Dakota Carter, president of the UNT Student Government Association.

UNT’s enrollment was 36,206 in September, shortly after the school year began. The highest student turnout was for last year’s stadium vote, at 14 percent, Carter said.

Voting was conducted last week on the Student Government Association Web site and by paper balloting. Unlike most schools, UNT students elect homecoming favorites as a male-female couple instead of individually.

Adam Lambert’s sexually suggestive choreography — including kissing another male — on the American Music Awards stage Sunday night happened “in the moment,” the singer told CNN.

Lambert, who is openly gay, said it is “a form of discrimination and a double standard” for anyone to object since “women performers have been pushing the envelope” for decades.

As for the awards, it was a big night for country and pop crossover sensation Taylor Swift with five and Michael Jackson with four.
